The PhD Candidate focusses on the nexus between political parties, political discourse and immigration policies. S/he generates expertise on the interplay between the politics of immigration and diversity, and the politics of inclusion or exclusion of diversity at regional and/or local level. S/he develops a research design which concentrates on the regional and/or local level, and is comparative, by either comparing a variety of political parties in Europe or by comparing parties operating at different governmental levels in at least two European states.

• initial contract is for 1 year, but will be extended for 2 more years in case of successful evaluation of the first year.
• starting date: 01 September 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter
Prerequisites
• an excellent Master Degree in Political Science
• previous engagement with political parties, political communication or migration scholarship is an asset
• knowledge of English and German is a prerequisite
