Abstract:
The COVID pandemic both exacerbated and made visible an existing care crisis. Consequently, when it comes to care, the pandemic made evident that there can be no going ”back to normal“. In her talk, Emma Dowling asks how the experience of the pandemic has informed debates about care in different national contexts and discusses emerging responses to the care crisis among stakeholders, policymakers and social movements. What new directions for care might be taking shape in the wake of coronavirus and how to make sense of these from the perspective of feminist political economy?
