The panel focuses on studying Science-Policy interfaces in United Nations Multilateral Negotiation Settings. International policy-making relies on scientific and technical expert input to address global governance challenges, such as pandemics, climate change and biodiversity loss. The panel brings together research on the design of scientific assessment bodies and committees in international processes, factors determining approval processes, and specific cases of science-policy interfaces within the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Seabed Authority (ISA) and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
