Kurzbiographie

Eszter Kováts studierte Germanistik, Romanistik, Soziologie und Politikwissenschaft in Pécs, Szeged und Budapest. Von 2009 bis 2019 war sie zuständig für das ostmitteleuropäische Genderprogramm der Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in Budapest. Von 2016 bis 2022 promovierte sie in Politikwissenschaft an der Universität ELTE, Budapest. Von Januar bis Juni 2020 hatte sie ein Forschungsstipendium an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Im Februar 2022 schloss sie ihre Promotion ab, mit dem Titel „Feindbild, Hegemonie und Reflexion – Bedeutung und Funktion des Genderbegriffs in der Politik des Orbán-Regimes und der deutschen radikalen Rechten“. Ihre Dissertation wurde im September 2022 auf Ungarisch als Buch veröffentlicht und hat dafür den Kolnai-Preis, den Preis der Ungarischen Gesellschaft für Politikwissenschaft für das beste politikwissenschaftliche Buch des Jahres, erhalten. Seit Februar 2023 ist sie Post Doc Assistentin im Forschungsbereich Politik und Geschlecht am Institut für Politikwissenschaft.

Forschungschwerpunkte

Feministische Theorie, Gleichstellungspolitiken, Anti-Gender-Bewegungen, illiberale Rechte und illiberale Linke in Europa.
